Water Test
Sunday, August 27th, 2006Had my water tested today. Since all the rain and storms lately I figured it was a good time to have the water tested. My little tester showed I just needed a little acid this weekend.
I took water samples to both Paddock and Shasta for testing.
Paddock:
CYA = 93
Total Chlorine = 8.7
Free Chlorine = 7.2
pH = 7.3
Adj. TA = 37
Hardness = 294
They recommended I add 42 lbs. of Alkali Up to raise the alkalinity,
Add 2 lbs. of acid,
Add 3 qt. of Stain and Scale control,
Add 8 lbs. of Pad Chem to boost the free chlorine,
I found this to be surprising since the levels have always been close. So I took a sample to Shasta.
Shasta:
Add 1 pt. of acid to lower the pH,
pH = 7.8
That is all..
Everything else was in the good range.
The difference between the tests were how they were measured. Paddock uses test strips where Shasta used the old fashion way of drops and water samples.
