Heatpump Error

Monday, May 18th, 2009

Paddock came out and repaired the leaking pipe at the filter. Another $65.00 service charge.

When I restarted the pool pump after waiting about an hour for the glue to dry, the heatpump error code popped up saying the suction TH open. The heatpump refused to start. Gillespie A/C said that the temp sensor has failed and needs to be repaired. They will try and be out on Wednesday.

I called Pentair to ask if the heatpump could be replaced instead of constantly repairing the unit. After being on hold for about 15 minutes the service technician’s computer crashed and I was put back in the hold lineup. Another 15 minutes on hold. I was told that they would look into it and call me back Tuesday.

So, as of today, the leak is fixed but the chlorine generator (Ecco-Matic), Ozone generator (Ultra-Pure), Deep end light (Jazz Light), and heatpump (Pentair) have all failed.

PCC

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

Today I noticed the PCC system is stuck again. The cleaning system for the shallow end has stuck on one station. I will have to take it apart and find out why it wont advance. This seems to happen quite often.

While checking to see what pump controls that PCC system I noticed that when the pump is started it shoots water out from between the pump and motor assembly. My guess is either the motor is loose or a bad seal.

Call for Salt

Friday, June 29th, 2007

I called and left a message for Debbie Moles. Telling her that the pump was now working and I am just waiting for the salt to be added so we can get the salt system back up and running. Also that the ozone line had been pulled out when they replaced the pump. I put the line back into the generator but not sure if anything else was disconnected.

Electricians

Monday, June 25th, 2007

The electricians came out and rewired the pump.

Electricians Schedule

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

The electricians called and said they would be out on Monday to look over the problem with the pump.

One out of three – not bad

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

Kelly Sharp was out today to replace the filter pump. It seems that there is a short somewhere in the wiring and he called for the electricians to come out and look at it, hopefully soon.

The waterfall pump turned out to be the return dump was on, so that was corrected.

They were out of salt, so they will reschedule.

One out of three – not bad.

Schedule Pump

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

Debbie Moles called and said that someone would be out on Thursday to take a look at the pumps and see if they can add the salt.

Shorted Out

Sunday, June 10th, 2007

Today we had company over to swim. The pumps were all off. They had blown the breakers to the pumps and the sub panel.
The filter pump has shorted out.

Now at least 30 more people have seen the problems I have to deal with.

Waterfall Call

Friday, May 18th, 2007

I talked with Debbie Moles about the waterfall pump and the salt system. She said she would schedule a time when they can add the salt to the pool and get it back up and running. She would also look into the failed waterfall pump.

No Prime

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

Today I went out to check chemical levels and noticed the main filter pump will not self prime. Since I have it set to run at night, I wonder how long it has been running dry. I had to pre fill the basket filter for it to prime and run.

What Now

Tuesday, December 12th, 2006

The pool cleaning system is set to start at 10 pm every night. Tonight I can hear it blowing air as it changes from station to station. The pool filter is also loosing prime every now and then. I am still waiting to hear from Debbie Moles on when they are going to fix the PCC cleaning system.

Another Pump

Tuesday, June 13th, 2006

The service tech came out and replaced the wok pot pump. He also blew out the main drain again, removing several large chunks of plaster from inside the line.
The fiber optics in the waterfall was glued back in place again.

Fail

Tuesday, June 6th, 2006

The service tech. came out and tried to blow the debris out of the main drain. He ran out of compressed air. Drain still blocked. He did not have the pump needed to repair the wok pot pump. He said he will return on Saturday to try again.

Call

Friday, June 2nd, 2006

Called again and left another message for Debbie.
Called back and talked with Rebecca. She will have someone out Tuesday to look at the main drain and air in system. The tile company will call to set up a time for caulking. The fiber optic people will call to set a time for the fiber optics to come out.
Electritions called and had the wrong work order. They wanted to put in controls for the lights. I told them that had been done a long time ago. Told them about the wok pot pump going on and off, and they said it sounded like the pump was failing. I guess they don’t do pumps.

Today’s list

Tuesday, May 30th, 2006

Called Paddock Pools warreanty dept. Rebecca transferred me to Debbie Moles voice mail. Waiting for call back.
Today’s list:
Wok pot pump shutting off and resetting
Fiber optic lines falling out of waterfall
Caulk between deck and waterline tile separating again
Stains still there
Main drain still pulling from side port and not much from bottom drain
Still sucking air into main filter pump, even when ozone shut off
Deck lifting and crack at deep end skimmer

On Off

Sunday, May 21st, 2006

The pump for the wok pots cuts on and off when it wants to. I will have to check and see if it is electrical or a pump failure.
Stucco is releasing from the waterfall again. I will have to find a contractor to replace it soon.
Paddock was out this week and checked the chemical balance. I found their card at the front door.

Pool Completed

Wednesday, April 26th, 2006

I met with Edward Ghiz, Debbie Moles, Bob and Chris from Poco Verde here. I tried to explain how the waterfall was supposed to look like. The one in their showroom has the waterfall set into a cantilever edge, hiding the sheer and lights from view. We looked over the pool and I explained the problems left to repair. Most all of the items had already been taken care of this week. All that is left is getting the fiber optics onto the remote, separating the color wheels for all the lights on the remote, fix the fiber optics falling out of the waterfall, and removing the white spacers on the wok pots. There is air getting into the filter system, causing it to loose prime, and he said they would fix that. One of the Jandy valves is malfunctioning also.
I showed him where the stucco on the face of the planter looked patched to me. Poco Verde offered to fix it but I refused, as they do not have a good track record with me on their repairs. Mr. Ghiz offered to have another contractor repair it and bill them the cost of the repair.
Mr. Ghiz said that the pool was complete and the rest is warranty work that they should have completed within a week.

Week 52

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

While checking the chemical balance and trying to clean up the dirt on the bottom, about 2 hours, I noticed that if I turn on just the shallow end skimmer, the pump sucks air and runs dry. Checked skimmer and it does have water in it. Also air in the line if I choose main drain only, but does not run the pump dry. The PCC 2000, a.k.a. Piece Crap Cleaning 2000 system, is still not clearing the dirt up and now makes lots of noise.
Debbie Moles called and said the electricians will be out on Friday to replace the lights with the Jazz lights. Cody will be out to fix the gauges, cleaning system, and check on the air in the system. Scott will try and straiten out the diving board.

Oops

Friday, March 17th, 2006

The electrician repaired the incorrectly wired pumps. He also said that the pool lights were also wired wrong and he fixed that also. He said they also installed the wrong lights in the pool. The color wheels can not be synced together, only one light has the auto sync feature the other light is a standard light. While checking his paperwork he also noted that they had installed Jazz lights, his paper calls for F/X lights. The F/X is a lower output lamp, and on a pool this size why lower output lamp? My contract states Jazz lights. So he needs to call and have a diver come out and replace the lights with the correct ones. They will not be able to operate the lights independently of each other the way they are wired and he doesn’t know if they will be able to sync colors with the fiber optics. According to Fiberstars, http://www.fiberstars.com/, all their lighting should be able to sync with each other assuming you get the right ones.
Jesse with Poco Verde called and said they are not able to seal the wok pots till the fiber optics are done in the pots.
Paddock came by to touch up the chips, stains, and cracks. He looked over the deck and said that he could do the repairs but since the construction was not finished, as he was told, he wanted to wait. He said that he would need to pressure wash and repaint the whole deck. I agreed that we need to wait because they still need to move rock and dirt across the deck.
Prado and Sons Plaster called and will be out on Tuesday to look over the stains in the plaster.
Water level down over 1/2″ since I turned off auto leveler. Pumps did not run all last night because the U/V system was installed.
Called Debbie and left another message.
Debbie Moles called and I gave her the list of things yet to be done. She was under the impression it was complete. She is going to schedule the electricians to figure out the lighting, fiber optic people, Poco Verde to seal the wok pots, Allen Tile to clean up the tile, the deck cleanup, and the plasterer to fix the stains. I am going to give them till the end of March to finish the project, at that time I will have no further contact with them.

Week 51

Thursday, March 16th, 2006

Poco Verde is attempting to seal the wok pots to keep them from leaking. Todd came out for orientation meeting. He couldn’t get color wheels on lights to work correctly either. Chlorine levels at 0.5 and ph at 8.4. He advised on brushing the pool 3 times a day for the first 14 days. Clean the cartridge filters every 3 months.
Today’s list of concerns:
1. PCC2000 cleaning system won’t cycle.
2. Lighting color wheels won’t cycle.
3. Color wheels not able to change separately.
4. Pool lighting will not sync with fiber optic lighting.
5. Pumps on wrong timers/remote.
6. Stains in plaster.
7. Stains and chips on deck.
8. Fiber optics not working. No illuminator
9. Waterfall lighting not in.
10. No conduit in concrete riser for wok pot # 3 fiber optics.
11. Wok pot lines plugged and do not spray correctly.
12. Wok pot bubbler pipes stick up over pots.
13. Diving board set crooked.
14. Gauges for cleaning system broken.
15. Gauges for pumps broken.
16. Dirt in deep end can not make it to the main drain. PCC2000 spraying over the top of main drain, keeping debris from making it to the drain.
Called and left message for Debbie to call me. She will be out till Friday. UV system was installed and plumbed into the filter.

No Show

Monday, March 13th, 2006

Start up people could not make it today. Paddock tech started filter and checked pumps. 2 pumps wired incorrectly, he will have the electricians out to fix them. Waterfall output was not what I expected. It throws only about a foot out from the wall. He added chlorine and acid to the pool. He said the start up people should be out tomorrow to place the cleaning jets and all the nozzles. He said to brush it today and none tomorrow so the set up guy can set the cleaners. I brushed to pool down twice the first time. I noticed several stains in the plaster along the wok pot side.
Thursday 03-16-2006 pool orientation.
Friday 03-24-2006 the salt system will be added.

Sinking

Tuesday, September 13th, 2005

I met with Lloyd Wilson at 8:15am. I showed him the sinking pumps, missing planter foundation, and leaking heater. He would have someone out to fix the heater and see if they can level the pumps. He said Poco Verde would be out today to start on the wall. Poco would paint the wall because they were using standard bricks. He painted where the back planter wall would be located. The fiber optic people came by to look over the project. They will run their conduit, and then after all is done, set the illuminator and controls.
12:00pm, met with Craig from Poco Verde. We discussed painting the wall to match the house since it needed to be painted anyway. They started digging the foundation for the wall and removal of the unneeded foundation already poured. We went over the placement of the rear wall for the planter. The 5’ tall wall meets the existing back wall and extends past the planter, centering the 3’ planter. I gave him a copy of the overview picture. He said they should have the backyard wall done today or tomorrow securing the backyard.
